We provide automated and remotely piloted freight services where existing transport systems either are not available or not viable.

Different drones

The word 'Drone' with regards to freight services is a relatively new word which is evolving to mean more than just an pilotless flying machine. Now it could be on land, on or in the sea and may not look like your typical quadcopter. 7rocks is looking at any sort of freight vehicle it can automate to transport your precious cargo as efficiently as possible.


Our current focus is on VTOL (vertical take of and landing) flying wings over short distances. After that we will be working on low altitude solar powered wings with radio repeaters. These separate solar wings will work as satellites repeating transmission signals to the main cargo drone to allow for greater distances. This means over mountains, behind buildings in built up areas and past the horizon without having to connect to existing space satellite systems.

Air - High altitude sky platforms
For later projects we are looking at drone balloon sky platforms floating in the stratosphere. The will act as radio repeaters and landing base stations for recharge and automated repairs. For certain freight situations high speed drones can jump between sky platforms at far higher speeds. The thinner atmosphere causes less drag allowing short transport times.


For certain environments automated land vehicles are of preference to aerial vehicles. The reasons may include weight, range, existing infrastructure availability, energy sources relative to cargo size, manned interactions. Usually there is a pre-existing service which can be modified into an automated service.

Sea and Sub-Sea

We are initially looking at short ocean routes where cargo is relatively small and docking is difficult or impossible for normal vessels. In radical or difficult environments cross bred vehicles will be the option of choice. These vehicles work on the surface of the water where the conditions are calm and dive into submarine mode to traverse rough water bodies. Using smaller cargo drone devices also allows for less environmental impact as the transport vehicle is lighter. Thus it can come ashore at different points, be craned out of the water or berth through sub sea tunnels.

Sub-sea vehicles can be far more fuel efficient than planing or displacement surface vessels in rough seas. Rough water surfaces bring vessels to a halt and they have to accelerate from zero again where most of the fuel is used.

If time is available, surface or sub surface vessels can be sail driven greatly reducing fuel costs.
